In 2019, six years into our homeschool journey, I stood behind the photo below of my two children on the trail, half wondering if the gentle, unhurried life we were building could actually last.
Slow mornings. Wandering hikes without agenda. Hours spent in good books. Afternoons with no pressure or plans.
I remember asking myself, is this sustainable, or am I just borrowing peace we can't keep?
Another six years later, I can tell you: it was never about keeping the pace exactly the same. Seasons shift. Children grow. What stayed was the belief and trust that we didn't have to rush to raise children who love God, love learning, and love each other.
If you're in the thick of it right now, little ones underfoot, days that feel long and sometimes uncertain if any of it is "working," I want to offer you the same peace God handed me:
You don't have to see the whole road to trust the One who's walking it with you.
Let the slow mornings be slow. Let the walks wander. The world will keep rushing without you and that's perfectly fine. Let it. You're building something you just can't see yet (but He can).
