What is Simple Studies? Simple Studies is an award-winning, Charlotte Mason–inspired homeschool curriculum used by thousands of families around the world. Each guide brings together living books, narration, nature study, and hands-on learning in subjects like history, natural history, science, poetry, and character development.

Who is Simple Studies for? Our guides are designed for homeschooling families with students in grades K-12. Many studies also include coloring pages and simpler activities so younger, Pre-K siblings can join in during read-alouds.

Our Guides

What format do the guides come in? Every Simple Studies guide is a digital download (PDF). After purchase, you'll download the file directly to your device — there's nothing physical mailed to you. This keeps things simple and low cost.

What's included in a guide? Depending on the study, guides may include simple lessons, comprehensive book lists, narration prompts, discussion questions, printables (zero busywork), diagrams, coloring pages, nature journaling guidance, poetry, songs, illustrations, copywork, maps, links to videos and resources, and simple hands-on projects.

Do I need to buy the books used in the guides separately? Yes. Each guide is built around specific living books, which are listed on the product page. Many are classics available free through sources like Project Gutenberg or your local library, and we often link to recommended editions to make finding them easy.

Do I need any teaching experience to use these guides? No prior experience or extra prep is needed. Guides are written so any parent or teacher can pick them up and use them at the table with minimal preparation — just the guide, the required book, and occasionally a few household items for optional hands-on activities.

How long does each guide take to complete? This varies by study — check each guide's individual product page for details on length and pacing. Charlotte Mason recommended spending no more than 15–20 minutes on one lesson and then moving on. Our guides are designed around this short lesson method.

How much do the guides cost? Individual guides range from about $10 to $18, with bundled collections priced higher (currently $25–$35). Prices are listed on each product page.

Do you offer bundles or collections? Yes! We offer curated collections, like our Best Sellers, Character, and History Collections, at a discounted bundle price.

Membership

What is the Simple Studies Monthly Membership? For $7/month, members receive a fresh PDF download each month featuring three deep-dive topics, including simple lessons, book lists, nature studies, hands-on activities, tales, riddles, puzzles, vocabulary, history timeline images, picture studies, and more.

When is new membership content released? Members-only content is released during the first week of each month. You can use it all right away or save it for later in the year — it's up to you. Members can go into their membership portal and download their monthly guide.

How do I join or manage my membership? Visit the Membership page to join, and use "Sign In / My Account" on the site to manage your subscription.

I purchased a guide — where do I find my download? You'll receive a download link immediately after checkout. Be sure to save the file to your device within 24 hours of purchase.

I missed my download window. Can you resend my file? Yes — just reach out through our Contact page with your order number, and we'll resend it.

What is your return policy? Because our guides are instant digital downloads, we're unable to offer returns or refunds.

How long does it take to hear back from support? We typically respond to inquiries within 24-48 hours.
