Over the years, I’ve spent hundreds of dollars seeking simple Form Guides and instructions… I’ve also spent hours researching the many free resources online. This is my effort to combine many of those incredible resources into one simple resource for you.

Charlotte Mason's Form 2 is a crucial stage in her six-part educational curriculum, designed to cater to children aged 9-12. During this stage, the curriculum emphasizes reading, narrations, recitation, writing/dictation, grammar, mathematics, three streams of history, literature and mythology, geography, natural history and nature study (science), art, poetry, common subjects like picture and composer study, Shakespeare, Citizenship and Plutarch among several others.

Mason recognized that students in Form 2 were at a critical stage in their development, and therefore, the curriculum is designed to go beyond the basics of foundational education. In addition to the core subjects, Form 2 students are encouraged to begin learning foreign languages, develop their drawing and painting skills, and engage in handicrafts such as sewing, weaving, and woodworking.

In Form 2, Mason also placed a great emphasis on developing students' creativity and appreciation for the arts. She believed that exposure to a variety of music, art, and literature from different cultures and time periods could broaden their horizons and foster a love for learning.
