This 55-page Form 1 Guide offers homeschool parents a comprehensive overview of introducing students ages 6-9 (or grades 1-3) to formal, short lessons; with book, curriculum and website recommendations and sample schedule and notebook recommendations for parents seeking to offer a Charlotte Mason-inspired education at home.

Over the years, I’ve spent hundreds of dollars seeking simple Form Guides, plans and instructions… I’ve also spent hours researching the many free resources available to us online. This guide is my effort to combine many of those incredible resources and Form 1 recommendations into one simple resource for you.

With this Form 1 Guide, parents are able to obtain not only recommendations for Form 1 students, but also the “why” behind the Charlotte Mason method for each subject.

"In Form 1, let the child's education be full of living books that spark their imagination, short and focused lessons that prevent mental fatigue, and the power of narration that allows them to express their understanding. Let them explore nature, engage in handicrafts, appreciate art and music, and develop a love for learning that goes beyond mere memorization and testing." (paraphrased from Charlotte Mason’s writing)

Form 1 provides students with an intentional, engaging education that goes beyond traditional academics to include life skills, creativity, and character development. Mason's curriculum for Form 1 was intended to cultivate a lifelong love of learning in students and equip them with the skills they need to succeed both academically, spiritually and personally.

This guide is intended to help simplify your homeschool plans and offer a cohesive overview and dive into a few of the many resources available to parents seeking a Charlotte Mason-inspired education.
