Simple Studies: Courage
A Charlotte Mason Instructor’s Guide for K-6 students.

Teaching resilience comes easier when children are exposed to true stories from the past. Each of the 11 short lessons offers a reading from The Courage of Sarah Noble by Alice Dalgliesh, a prompt for narration and art opportunities along with a list of living picture books for younger children and ideas for further study for older students, including Bible verses and discussions.

With Simple Studies: Courage, students cover narration, American History, character development, literature, art and more all while you simply read aloud.

Older students are prompted to use their Bible and to create original drawings in their narration notebooks.

Included in this study:

– 11 Simple Lessons that correspond with each chapter

– 11 Hand-drawn Coloring Pages for younger students to use while you read aloud

– Picture Booklists for each lesson

– Chapter Review and Narration prompts

– Bible verse references and discussions

– Poetry

– Simple, Optional Hands-On Activities

– Review Questions

Instructors will need one additional item on hand to complete the lessons:

1) The Courage of Sarah Noble by Alice Dalgliesh.

“Thought breeds thought; children familiar with great thoughts take as naturally to thinking for themselves as the well-nourished body takes to growing; and we must bear in mind that growth, physical, intellectual, moral, spiritual, is the sole end of education.” – Charlotte Mason
